Dr. Michelle Mayer
For Dr. Mayer, dentistry is as much a calling as it is a career. Having witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of inadequate dental care while serving on volunteer missions to Jamaica, she has made it her mission to, in her own words, "educate my patients and give them the best care possible." A summa cum laude graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, Dr. Mayer earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. While pursuing her dental studies, she was named Dental Student of the Year and received the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence. Dr. Mayer is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association and the Lee County Dental Society. Her commitment to her calling extends far beyond the confines of her office. In addition to tending to the less fortunate in Jamaica, Dr. Mayer has helped provide free dental treatment to needy children in South Florida as part of the American Dental Association's Give Kids A Smile® program. She also worked in a dental clinic serving Native Americans in a tiny Alaskan village 400 miles west of Anchorage. A woman of many talents and interests, Dr. Mayer is an accomplished musician who loves to sing and play the piano; she also enjoys tennis, biking, hiking, horseback riding, ice climbing and scuba diving. An avid runner, she successfully completed both the Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run and the Army 10-Miler race in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Melita Islambasic
Where others lecture, Dr. Islambasic prefers to listen. The way she sees it, what her patients have to say can be as revealing as any x-ray. Dr. Islambasic began her studies at Jacksonville University before moving on to the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Her specialties include crowns and bridges, endodontics (root canals) and dental occlusion (the teeth and jaws coming together correctly to create a proper bite). In her off hours, Dr. Islambasic practices yoga and plays golf and tennis.
Dr. Paul Uliasz
With his warm personality and welcoming smile, Dr. Uliasz has a knack for putting even the most nervous patients at ease. Originally from Michigan, he attended Wayne State University before receiving his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Dr. Uliasz keeps up with the latest developments in dentistry, particularly in the field of cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association and the Orange County Dental Society. When not at the office, Dr. Uliasz likes to relax by swimming, scuba diving, playing soccer or curling up with a favorite book.
