REGULAR CHECK-UPS
Preventive care is worth much more than people realize. The American Dental Association recommends that you visit your dentist at least once a year, and have scheduled cleanings every six months. During routine exams, the dentist checks for signs of tooth decay and oral cancer, examining your tongue, your glands and the inside of your mouth. The dentist also checks your bite, looking for signs of teeth grinding and disorders of the jaw.
Catching and correcting many of these problems early will ensure happy and healthy smiles for a lifetime. To learn more about preventive care and proper hygiene visit the American Dental Association website at www.ADA.org
PREVENTIVE CARE AND CLEANINGS
Regular cleanings remove plaque that can be missed by regular brushing and flossing. Without removal, a build-up can cause serious damage to teeth and gums. More advanced cleanings that require deep scaling can help patients with periodontal disease.
Our dental hygienists are highly trained and want to make your experience a positive one. Be sure to ask when booking your appointment for details of the kind of cleaning you are scheduled for. Certain conditions require pre-medication prior to any hygiene procedure.
X-RAYS AND SCREENINGS
X-Rays are a non-invasive and safe procedure. X-rays can detect decay between teeth, infections in the bone, abscesses or cysts and developmental abnormalities. Often overlooked, now regular check-ups include screenings for oral cancer. We use the newest VELscope® examination to look for even the earliest signs of cancer.
TOOTH WHITENING & WHITE FILLINGS
Today there are many whitening alternatives. The ones with the best results are offered at the dentist's office. The most popular is our 1-hour power whitening program that produces incredible results in no time.
White fillings are used to repair a tooth when cavities are found. Today white composite resin fillings replace the old silver amalgam fillings that can be unsightly. Ask your dentist about more information on this procedure.
COSMETIC & RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY
PORCELAIN VENEERS
Having a bright white smile can begin with porcelain veneers. They are small pieces of porcelain that are custom fitted to the shape of your tooth and provide an aesthetic improvement. They also can aide in the treatment of certain dental conditions
IMPLANTS
A dental implant is a new way to replace missing teeth. It offers a permanent solution to alternate choices of dentures and bridges, and enhances a person's lifestyle
DENTURES
Full and partial dentures are a way of replacing multiple missing teeth. Dentures can improve the quality of life by relieving mouth pain, improving the way you eat, and enhancing speech.
ANXIETY-FREE DENTISTRY
We know that many adults avoid going to the dentist because of fear or anxiety, or maybe a negative previous experience. To make your visit with us as anxiety-free as possible, we offer such comforts as chairside CD players to help you unwind while we work on your smile. And while our accommodating staff will explain everything in detail to address any concerns you may have, we understand if you're still a little nervous. To ease your anxieties, we can administer nitrous oxide or oral medication, at select practices. Both are completely safe and totally effective: The only thing you'll feel is relaxed.
