REGULAR CHECK-UPS
Preventive care is worth much more than people realize. The American Dental Association recommends that you visit your dentist at least once a year, and have scheduled cleanings every six months. During routine exams, the dentist checks for signs of tooth decay and oral cancer, examining your tongue, your glands and the inside of your mouth. The dentist also checks your bite, looking for signs of teeth grinding and disorders of the jaw.

PREVENTIVE CARE AND CLEANINGS
Regular cleanings remove plaque that can be missed by regular brushing and flossing. Without removal, a build-up can cause serious damage to teeth and gums. More advanced cleanings that require deep scaling can help patients with periodontal disease.

X-RAYS AND SCREENINGS
X-Rays are a non-invasive and safe procedure. X-rays can detect decay between teeth, infections in the bone, abscesses or cysts and developmental abnormalities. Often overlooked, now regular check-ups include screenings for oral cancer. We use the newest VELscope® examination to look for even the earliest signs of cancer.
