We Are Open – Safety is Our Top Priority!
We’ve reopened in accordance with CDC, O.S.H.A., and State Dental Board guidelines to responsibly resume seeing our patients for regular dental appointments and treatment. We want to assure you of the measures we take to maintain a clean and safe environment so you can continue to receive needed dental care without fear or concern.
Would you like to have a whiter, brighter smile with little time and hassle? Teeth whitening helps remove years of discoloration and tooth stains, brightening your teeth and enhancing your smile essentially in minutes. It’s one of the fastest and most affordable methods of cosmetic dentistry available.
Our team in Clermont provides several methods of teeth whitening to help you achieve beautiful results within your lifestyle and your budget. You can relax in our office and whiten your teeth after your next professional cleaning, or if you prefer a more discreet option, we offer a take-home product that professionally whitens your teeth in about 15 minutes a day in less than two weeks.
Both produce dramatic results, especially when applied to the blank canvas of professionally cleaned teeth. A professional teeth cleaning removes any food particles and bacteria that can contribute to tooth stains and interfere with the whitening process.
Why Whiten Your Teeth?
Teeth can become dingy, dull, or discolored for a variety of reasons. Our tooth color actually is a combination of the light reflected off the enamel—the white surface of a tooth—and the color of the dentin, or middle layer, underneath the enamel.
Our tooth color changes as we age because the enamel becomes thinner while the dentin tends to grow darker. Some of us are born with thinner enamel—and more visible dentin—because of our genetic makeup. Enamel also is porous, so it’s vulnerable to color change thanks to some foods, beverages, and other factors.
The most common causes of tooth discoloration include:
- Tobacco products
- Beverages such as coffee, tea, red wines, and colas
- Certain medical treatments and medications
- Tooth decay or trauma
- Poor dental hygiene
Dental work such as a crown, a bridge, a veneer or dentures also benefits from whitening your natural teeth beforehand. These cosmetic and restorative treatments are color-matched to your natural teeth to blend in seamlessly. The dental porcelain used these fixtures is stain resistant, so it doesn’t respond to whitening treatments. That means if you whiten your teeth after having such dental work, your artificial tooth will stand out.
Smile Perfected™: Professional In-Office Teeth Whitening
Our team in Clermont offers Smile Perfected™, a professional teeth whitening procedure that takes about 20 minutes. It’s so quick and effective, you can easily add this service after your teeth are clean and healthy following your regular cleaning.
The patented Smile Perfected system combines a tooth whitening gel with an LED light to accelerate the whitening process while reducing your exposure to the ingredients. To further protect against sensitivity, individual ampoules of vitamin E moisturize and protect your lips and skin.
You’ll simply bite into a prefilled, delicious-tasting gel housed in special whitening trays. These trays are designed to allow your jaw muscles to remain relaxed and tension-free during the treatment, so you’ll feel comfortable throughout the process.
Opalescence Go®: Impressive Teeth Whitening at Home
If you prefer to whiten your teeth in private and on your own schedule, our office in Clermont also provides Opalescence Go. This professional-strength product is available only from dentists and can give you significant results at home in five to ten days.
Each take-home kit includes innovative trays prefilled with a whitening gel that includes potassium nitrate and fluoride. Findings show that these ingredients help increase the hardness of tooth enamel, reduce cavities, minimize tooth sensitivity, and improve your teeth’s overall health.
Opalescence Go is safe, effective, and so simple to use, it’s ready to use right out of the box. Just center one of the trays over your upper or lower teeth. Then bite gently and suck down or swallow to secure the gel against your teeth. You’ll remove the colored outer tray, exposing a clear and comfortable inner tray worn for the treatment.
The kits come in two combinations of whitening ingredients that determine your treatment time. Choose a 15% concentration worn for 15 to 20 minutes a day over five to ten days, or a 10% concentration worn for about 30 to 60 minutes over the same amount of time.
Once your daily treatment is done, just remove the disposable tray and brush your teeth as you normally would.
