You can remove years of stains and discoloration from your teeth by whitening your teeth for just a few minutes each day.
Our team at Towncare Dental of Cutler Bay can help you achieve the beautiful smile you want in a way that fits your lifestyle and your budget. We have a professional-strength take-home product that safely bleaches your teeth a bit at a time in less than two weeks.

Opalescence Go®: Impressive Teeth Whitening at Home
Our office in Cutler Bay offers Opalescence Go, a discreet way to whiten your teeth at home and on your own schedule. This professional-strength kit is available only from dentists but can give you impressive results in five to ten days.
Opalescence Go is so simple to use, it’s ready to use right out of the box. It features innovative trays prefilled with a whitening gel that includes potassium nitrate and fluoride. There’s no need for measuring or wondering if you have the proper amount. What’s more, findings have shown that these particular additives improve your teeth’s overall health by minimizing tooth sensitivity, helping to reduce cavities, and increasing the hardness of tooth enamel.
To start whitening, center one of the disposable trays over your upper or lower teeth and bite gently. You’ll need to suck down or swallow to secure the gel against your teeth. Then remove the colored outer tray, revealing a clear and comfortable inner tray that you’ll wear for the length of the treatment.
Opalescence Go comes in two concentrations to meet your needs. Choose a 15% concentration worn for 15 to 20 minutes a day over five to ten days, or a 10% concentration worn for about 30 to 60 minutes over the same duration.
Once your daily treatment time is done, just remove the tray and throw it away for easy cleanup. Brush your teeth as you normally would, being careful not to swallow any remaining gel.
Why Whiten Your Teeth?
Dull, dingy, or discolored teeth can make anyone feel self-conscious. The color of your teeth is a combination of the light reflected off the enamel, or the hard outer layer of the tooth, and the color of the dentin, or the middle layer, underneath the enamel. Because of genetics, some people have thinner tooth enamel—and more visible dentin—than others.
But everyone’s teeth can become less white or even yellow over time. As we age, tooth enamel becomes thinner while dentin tends to grow darker. Also, because enamel is porous, other factors can affect our tooth color, such as certain foods and beverages.
Common causes of tooth discoloration include:
- Tobacco products
- Beverages such as coffee, tea, red wines, and colas
- Poor dental hygiene
- Certain medical treatments and medications
- Tooth decay or trauma
In addition to brightening your smile, tooth whitening can be a good preparation for dental work such as a crown, a bridge, a veneer or dentures. The dental porcelain used in such cosmetic and restorative treatments is color-matched to your natural teeth to blend in seamlessly. These dental fixtures are designed to be stain resistant, so they don’t respond to whitening treatments. So if decide to whiten your teeth after such procedures, your dental work will appear more obvious.
