We Are Open – Safety is Our Top Priority!
We’ve reopened in accordance with CDC, O.S.H.A., and State Dental Board guidelines to responsibly resume seeing our patients for regular dental appointments and treatment. We want to assure you of the measures we take to maintain a clean and safe environment so you can continue to receive needed dental care without fear or concern.
Now you can say goodbye to dingy, yellow teeth in less than an hour. Teeth whitening—one of the most affordable and fastest methods of cosmetic dentistry—helps remove years of stains and discoloration from your teeth essentially in minutes.
Our office in Jupiter has several ways to help you achieve the radiant smile you want within your budget and your lifestyle. You can relax in our office while you whiten your teeth during one visit, or if you prefer more privacy, take home an easy-to-use kit that will whiten your teeth professionally if you use it for about 15 minutes a day for 10 days.
Whichever method you choose provides measurable results, especially when applied after a teeth cleaning. A professional cleaning removes any bacteria and food particles that can interfere with the whitening treatment or contribute to tooth stains. Consider it a blank canvas for your sparkling smile.
Zoom® Teeth Whitening: Whiten Your Teeth in One Day
Our office in Jupiter is proud to offer Zoom WhiteSpeed teeth whitening treatment, which can deliver a smile that’s up to eight shades whiter after just one visit. Zoom is the most requested professional teeth whitening brand in America. Because of its adjustable intensity settings, it’s also proven to be comfortable for people with sensitive teeth. The majority of patients experience little to no tooth sensitivity after using Zoom.
Best of all, you can relax in our office, listen to music, or read while Zoom works its magic.
To get started, our hygienist or dentist first ensures that you don’t have any cavities or gum disease. We’ll assess your current tooth color to determine your treatment, then take impressions of your teeth for custom-made trays. Zoom uses a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel that works with a special chairside light. The light accelerates the whitening process, allowing the gel to penetrate the teeth and break up stains and discoloration.
To keep you comfortable, treatment consists of three 15-minute sessions for a total time of 45 minutes. Once you’re done, you’ll leave our office with a much-whiter smile.
Zoom QuickPro: Whiten Your Teeth After a Cleaning
If you’re already at our office for your teeth cleaning, why not get your teeth four shades whiter? Simply ask our hygienist at Jupiter Dental Group to apply Zoom QuickPro.
Zoom QuickPro is a convenient, affordable solution that uses dual-layer whitening technology to brighten teeth in minimal time. First, our hygienist applies the teeth whitening varnish. Then an innovative sealant layer is applied that dries the varnish in seconds, locking it into place and keeping it from getting onto your gums. You’ll leave your dental appointment with the invisible varnish still on your teeth. But after 30 minutes, you’ll use your usual toothbrush or a paper towel to wipe it off, revealing your brighter smile.
Patients experience little to no tooth sensitivity, and many like the results so much, they make Zoom QuickPro part of their annual hygiene.
Opalescence Boost: Whiten Your Teeth in Our Care
Our office in Jupiter also offers Opalescence Boost Teeth Whitening, another way to whiten your smile while you relax in our care. Opalescence Boost uses a tooth-whitening gel that includes potassium nitrate and fluoride, two ingredients that research has shown help minimize tooth sensitivity, reduce cavities, and increase the hardness of your natural tooth enamel.
Opalescence Boost is chemically activated, so it doesn’t need to be paired with a light to take effect. It’s a quick, comfortable, and effective way to whiten teeth and remove stains without much of a wait.
Before applying Opalescence Boost, our hygienist or dentist will confirm that you don’t have any gum disease or cavities. Then we’ll assess your current tooth color and apply the whitening gel to your teeth with a gentle, brushed tip. You’ll notice the results before you’re ready to leave.
Opalescence Go®: Impressive Teeth Whitening at Home
If you prefer a more discreet option, we carry Opalescence Go, a professional-strength teeth whitening product in a kit you can use at home. Available only from dentists, Opalescence Go is an effective, safe, and simple way to brighten your teeth in less than two weeks.
The kit comes with disposable trays prefilled with pleasant-tasting whitening gel, so you won’t need to be fitted for a custom mouthpiece or worry about measuring the proper amount. Just like Opalescence Boost, Opalescence Go uses a hydrogen peroxide gel that includes potassium nitrate and fluoride to improve the overall health of your teeth.
To apply, center one of the trays over your upper or lower teeth and bite gently. Suck down or swallow to secure the gel against your teeth, then remove the colored outer tray, exposing the clear, comfortable inner tray. You’ll wear this tray for a matter of minutes while you whiten your teeth.
Opalescence Go comes in two strengths. Choose a concentration of 15% of whitening ingredients to wear for 15 to 20 minutes a day over five to ten days, or a 10% concentration worn for about 30 to 60 minutes over the same duration.
Once your daily treatment is done, discard the tray and brush your teeth as you normally would.
Why Whiten Your Teeth?
Dingy, discolored, or dull-looking teeth can make anyone feel self-conscious. Our tooth color actually is a combination of the light reflected off the enamel (the hard outer layer of the tooth) and the color of the dentin (the middle layer) underneath. Everyone’s teeth become less white or even yellow as we age because the enamel thins and the dentin darkens.
But our tooth color varies in general because of our genetic makeup, which determines the thickness and smoothness of tooth enamel. Some of us have thinner enamel—and more visible dentin—than others. Enamel also is porous, so it’s vulnerable to color changes from certain foods, beverages, and other issues.
The most common causes of tooth discoloration include:
- Tobacco products
- Beverages such as coffee, tea, red wines, and colas
- Certain medical treatments and medications
- Tooth decay or trauma
- Poor dental hygiene
It’s also a good idea to whiten your teeth in preparation for dental work such as a crown, a bridge, a veneer or dentures. The dental porcelain used in such cosmetic and restorative treatments is color-matched to your natural teeth to blend in seamlessly. These dental fixtures don’t respond to whitening treatments because they’re designed to be stain resistant, so if you whiten your teeth later, your crown, bridge, or other dental work will stand out.
