We are open - safety is our top priority!
One of the biggest complaints of traditional denture wearers is their tendency to slip or fall out at the most unexpected times, causing untold embarrassment. For this reason, hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their teeth due to tooth decay or gum disease have turned to a revolutionary alternative called the All-on-4® Treatment Concept. The All-on-4 treatment uses four dental implants to hold the denture permanently in place
Often referred to as a permanent denture, the All-on-4 implant-supported denture is firmly fixed to your jawbone, offers the look and feel of natural teeth, and eliminates the need for the messy adhesives typically used with traditional removable dentures. With the All-on-4 dental implant solution, you simply brush and floss the denture just as you would natural teeth.
Our dentist at Sunrise Dental Group has completed the training necessary to perform the All-on-4 implant treatment has been helping people improve their smiles with no-slip dentures ever since. Please call our office today at (954) 246-4871 to find out how our dentist could help you, as well.
Benefits of the All-on-4 Implant-Supported Denture Treatment
Nobel Biocare, a world leader in dental technology, developed the All-on-4 dental implant treatment in 1998. Since then, it’s become the preferred choice for denture wearers because the procedure is less invasive and gives people replacement teeth 24-hours-a-day.
The traditional dental implant surgery that’s been around for decades often requires repeated visits to the dental office for bone grafts to build up the jawbone so it can support the implants, which are tiny screw-like posts. Other types of implant-supported dentures also required six or even eight dental implants to hold the denture in place. With the All-on-4 dental implant solution, however, most people don’t require bone grafts, and they only need four implants. As a result, they heal more quickly and are able to enjoy the comfort and natural appearance of their permanent no-slip dentures. Patients leave their dental appointment the same day with a temporary denture. In some cases, they can get their permanent denture the same day they have implant surgery, giving the procedure the nickname, “teeth-in-a-day.”
In addition, the All-on-4 dental implant treatment is usually less expensive than traditional implant surgery because it requires fewer implants and is less invasive.
How the All-on-4 Treatment Procedure Works
All-on-4 dental implant therapy uses just four dental implants to permanently attach a complete denture or bridge to the lower or upper jawbone. A denture or bridge is a complete row of prosthetic upper or lower teeth.
After lightly sedating the patient, the dentist or specialist places two small titanium posts directly into the jawbone in the front of your mouth and two more titanium posts tilted at a 45-degree angle in the back of your mouth. The 45-degree angle allows the dentist to insert the implants deeper into the jawbone than is possible with traditional implant surgery. As a result, the bone grafts that often accompany traditional dental implant surgery are no longer necessary.
The implants are made of titanium because it’s a metal that is compatible with human bone. Once the implants are in place, the jawbone will fuse around the implants in a few months, firmly and permanently locking them into place. After the All-on-4 dental implants have fused with the jawbone, the patient returns to the dental office to receive a permanent bridge or denture custom-made to match the shape and shade of the patient’s natural teeth. Your friends will be hard-pressed to tell the difference between your dentures supported by All-on-4 dental implants and the real thing.
In addition to providing a permanent foundation for a complete row of prosthetic teeth, your All-on-4 dental implants will prevent the deterioration of the jawbone that naturally occurs when it no longer has roots to support it. This deterioration can give denture wearers a tired, haggard appearance, aging them before their time. With All-on-4 dental implants, the face looks fuller and more youthful.
