We Are Open – Safety is Our Top Priority!
We’ve reopened in accordance with CDC, O.S.H.A., and State Dental Board guidelines to responsibly resume seeing our patients for regular dental appointments and treatment. We want to assure you of the measures we take to maintain a clean and safe environment so you can continue to receive needed dental care without fear or concern.
Want to say goodbye to dingy, yellow teeth in an afternoon? How about on your lunch break? Teeth whitening—one of the fastest, most affordable, and convenient methods of cosmetic dentistry—helps remove years of stains and discoloration from your teeth essentially in minutes.
Our office in Miami can help you achieve the brilliant smile you want within your budget and your lifestyle. Just relax in our office while our friendly staff and the whitening treatment work their magic.
You’re sure to see dramatic results, especially if you first have your teeth cleaned. A professional cleaning removes any food particles and bacteria that can contribute to tooth discoloration or interfere with the whitening treatment. Think of it as a blank canvas for your new smile.
Why Whiten Your Teeth?
Our tooth color comes from a combination of two factors: the light reflected off the enamel (the hard outer layer of our teeth) and the color of the dentin (the middle layer) underneath the enamel. Because of our genetic makeup, everyone’s enamel varies in thickness and smoothness. Some of us have thinner enamel—and more visible dentin—than others.
Everyone’s teeth can become less white, dingy, or yellow over time. As we age, the enamel thins and the dentin darkens, affecting our tooth color. Enamel also is porous, so some foods and beverages also can impact tooth color, too.
But don’t just blame that morning cup of coffee. The most common causes of tooth discoloration include:
- Tobacco products
- Poor dental hygiene
- Beverages such as coffee, tea, red wines, and colas
- Certain medical treatments and medications
- Tooth decay or trauma
Tooth whitening also is a good advance treatment if you need dental work such as a crown, a bridge, a veneer or dentures. The dental porcelain used in these cosmetic and restorative dental fixtures is color-matched to your natural teeth to blend in seamlessly. These fixtures are designed to be stain resistant and don’t respond to whitening treatments. So if you whiten your natural teeth later, your dental work will be more obvious.
Zoom® Teeth Whitening: Whiter Teeth in One Day
Towncare Dental of London Square is proud to offer Zoom® WhiteSpeed teeth whitening treatment, the most requested professional teeth whitening brand in America. It’s safe, pain-free, and affordable. Using professional-strength ingredients not available over the counter, this low-intensity treatment can deliver a smile that’s up to eight shades whiter after just one appointment.
Feel free to relax in our office while you brighten your smile comfortably, even if you have sensitive teeth. First, our hygienist or dentist will confirm that you don’t have any cavities or gum disease. Then we’ll assess your current tooth color to adjust your treatment.
Our dental professional will apply a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, which breaks apart surface stains below the enamel. The treatment includes using a special chairside light to accelerate the whitening process by helping the gel to penetrate the teeth.
To make sure you’re comfortable, the treatment is broken into three 15-minute sessions for a total treatment time of 45 minutes. Thanks to Zoom’s adjustable intensity settings, the majority of patients report little to no sensitivity after using Zoom. You can read, watch TV, or listen to music while you wait, knowing that you’ll leave our office with a whiter smile once you’re finished.
