What Can I Expect During My Visit to the Endodontist?

At Towncare Dental, we welcome people who have been referred to us by their general dentist and people who found us through other methods, such as referrals from friends or from the internet. If you were referred to us by your regular dentist, then we may request copies of the x-rays you had taken there.

When you come in for your first appointment with one of our endodontists, we’ll have you complete a medical history form, confirm any medications you currently take, and talk to you about your symptoms. We’ll take x-rays if necessary and will examine the problematic tooth or teeth. Then our root canal specialist will discuss the best way to treat the problem and answer all of your questions.

Depending on the severity of the tooth infection, the root canal treatment can either take place that day or will be scheduled for another day. If you decide to wait for treatment, our endodontist can prescribe medication to decrease the inflammation and relieve the toothache.
