How Does Invisalign® Treatment Work?

Invisalign moves your teeth into place using a progressive series of clear, comfortable aligners. Each set of aligners is a slightly different shape that moves the teeth slowly and gently toward their final, straight position.

After your Invisalign consultation, our dentist will take an impression of your teeth, then send it off to a dental lab. Using the information shared by our dentist, the dental lab will produce the necessary number of progressive Invisalign aligners, or retainers, by using the latest advancements in 3D computer technology and manufacturing methods.

The complexity of your case will determine how many aligners you need and how long you’ll have to wear them. You will typically switch to a new aligner every week or every other week, following a routine set by your Invisalign dentist.

You’ll need to return to our dental office in Fort Lauderdale for check-ups and to pick up your next sets of aligners about every six weeks. For the best results, we recommend you wear your Invisalign aligners 20-to-22 hours each day. Remove them only when you eat, drink, brush or floss.
