Traditional dental implant surgery often requires repeated visits to the dentist to receive bone grafts needed to build up the jawbone so the jaw can support the implants. With the All-on-4 Treatment Concept, most people don’t require bone grafts. After the All-on-4 procedure, patients leave their implant-placement appointment with a temporary denture. In some cases, they can even have their permanent denture placed. How the All-on-4 Treatment Procedure Works

While other types of implant-supported dentures require six or eight implants to hold the row of teeth in place, our dentist at Towncare Dental of Hialeah Square uses just four All-on-4 dental implants to permanently attach a complete denture or bridge to the upper or lower jaw.

After you've been comfortably sedated, the dentist will place two small titanium posts directly into the jawbone in the front of your mouth and two more titanium posts tilted at a 45-degree angle in the back of your mouth.

The 45-degree angle allows the dentist to place the implants deeper into the jawbone than is possible with traditional implants. As a result, the bone grafts that accompany traditional dental implant surgery are usually unnecessary.

The titanium posts that make up the implants are compatible with human bone. Therefore, the jawbone will begin to fuse around the implants within a few months, holding them in place for decades.

After the All-on-4 dental implants have fused with the jawbone, the dentist will attach the permanent bridge or denture that has been custom-made to match the shape and shade of natural teeth.

Your friends won't be able to tell the difference between your prosthetic teeth and the real thing. In addition to providing a permanent support for a denture or bridge, your All-on-4 dental implants will prevent the natural deterioration of the jawbone that occurs when it no longer has roots supporting it.
