The patented All-on-4 Treatment Concept was developed in 1998 by Nobel Biocare, a world leader in dental technology. In the 19 years since, hundreds of thousands of people have chosen All-on-4 dental implant therapy. One reason is the All-on-4 Treatment Concept is less invasive than other procedures.

With traditional dental implant surgery, patients are often required to make multiple visits to the dentist to receive bone grafts necessary to build up the jawbone so it can support the dental implants.

Bone grafts are rarely needed with the All-on-4 Treatment Concept. As a result, patients heal faster and are able to enjoy the comfort and natural appearance of their permanent dentures sooner.

During just one dental appointment, patients can walk out with the All-on-4 dental implants topped by a temporary denture. In some cases, the dentist can even place their permanent denture on the same day the All-on-4 implants are inserted, giving this procedure the nickname “teeth-in-a-day.”

How the All-on-4 Treatment Procedure Works

All-on-4 dental implant therapy uses four dental implants that look like tiny screws to permanently attach a complete denture or bridge to the upper or lower jaw.

After you've been comfortably sedated, the dentist or specialist will place two titanium posts directly into the lower or upper jawbone in the front of your mouth and two more titanium posts tilted at a 45-degree angle in lower or upper jawbone at the back of your mouth.

The 45-degree angle is the key to the All-on-4 Treatment Concept. It allows the dentist to place the implants deeper into the jawbone than is possible with traditional implants so bone grafts, eliminating the need for bone grafts.

Because titanium is a metal that is compatible with human bone, the jawbone will begin to fuse around the implants in a few months, locking them permanently in place. After the All-on-4 dental implants have completely fused with the jawbone, the patient will return to Towncare Dental Associates of Homestead to have the temporary denture replaced with a permanent one that is custom-made to match the shape and shade of the patient’s original teeth.

With All-on-4 dental implants, your friends won’t be able to distinguish your prosthetic teeth from the real thing. As an added benefit, All-on-4 implants prevent the progressive deterioration of the jawbone that naturally occurs when the jaw no longer has roots to support it. This deterioration can give denture wearers a gaunt appearance.
